What is a fluorescent whitening agent?
荧光增白剂是一种重要的功用性助剂。它是一种无机化合物,能吸收紫外光,再发射出人肉眼可见的蓝紫色荧光,与基质上的黄光互补而具有增白的效果。

白色物质普通对可见光中波长爲450nm~480nm的蓝光有细微吸收,而形成蓝色缺乏,使其稍带黄色而给人以陈腐的觉得。

对此,人们常采取两种措施来使物品增白、增艳。一是加蓝增白法。加蓝可以增白,但是效果无限,且由于总的反射光量增加,物品色泽会变暗。二是化学漂白法。次要是经过氧化复原反响而使物质褪色,因而对纤维素会形成一定毁坏,且漂白后的物品常带黄色,影响增白效果。

Because of the energy loss, the fluorescence wavelength of the radiation becomes longer, and the yellow color of the yellowing articles can be compensated by the blue light reflected by the fluorescent whitening agent, thus adding the apparent whiteness of the articles. Because the intensity of the emitted light exceeds the intensity of the visible light projected on the disposed object, the whitening effect of slightly colored light occurs.

对此,有学者呼吁,应增强针对荧光增白剂的毒理学研讨,健全风险评价机制,同时注重对造纸、洗濯剂用品、纺织等运用荧光增白剂行业的市场监视,健全检验管理处置体系,构成全方位应对体系。
In this regard, some scholars call for strengthening the toxicological studies on fluorescent whiteners, improving the risk assessment mechanism, paying attention to market surveillance of papermaking, detergent supplies, textiles and other industries using fluorescent whiteners, improving the inspection management and disposal system, and forming an all-round response system.
